Selfish like, for example, Nathan, Simon, Alisha, Rudy and Kelly? Stupid like, for example,  Nathan and arguably Rudy? Egotistical like, for example, Nathan and Alisha?
So selfish, he used his time reversal power to make his drug bust wrong right by freeing his ex-girlfriend? So selfish he tried to end it with the ex-girlfriend so he wasn’t cheating on either her or Alisha? So selfish he saved the entire group continuously instead of bailing?
So stupid he was often one of the only members of the group with common sense? So stupid he was the first to hint at stealing Shaun’s car to save Kelly?
Yes, he was egotistical, but so is Alisha, Nathan, and Rudy. He was no more stupid than Nathan, Kelly, Simon, and Nikki whom ALL gave up useful powers. Curtis was in fact probably the most MORAL of anyone in this group, did what was right, and often just wanted to stay out of trouble and mind his own business. Yeah, he’s totally awful.
Man, Curtis haters are just…I can’t with these people.

ALL OF THIS
and also about the drug bust thing in season 1 ep. 4 - remember that he doesn’t just save his girlfriend in that episode.  He saves everyone, at the cost of righting his own past mistakes and regaining his future as an Olympic athlete.  He chooses to give up his bright career prospects and the thing he loves most - running - for the sake of the other kids.  Without hesitation.  And this is a big turning point for his character because up till that point his whole schtick is that he ‘shouldn’t be there’ - but in the end he chooses to be there, for the sake of his friends.  He acknowledges, in the end, that he was exactly where he should have been; where he needed to be (‘I wasn’t there’).  Even if it means giving up his passion and his dream.
ARGH I JUST LOVE CURTIS AND HIS WHOLE SEASON 1 CHARACTER ARC it’s so perfectly done with the ‘shouldn’t be here’/’wasn’t there’ parallel why don’t people appreciate it ;_;
(incidentally this is why it always pissed me off when later seasons had him revert back to the ‘I shouldn’t be here’ thing because no, Curtis, honey, we resolved this already)
But anyway my point is: Curtis?  Selfish?  SURELY YOU JEST

I do love “I shouldn’t even be here,” though! I thought it was hilarious, especially when Alisha made fun of him for saying it.

No but I love how people are suddenly so sad that Curtis is dead and still calling him a “useless” character. That “useless” character is the reason your faves made it as far as they did.

People always forget Curtis saved everyone’s asses on several occasions. Curtis and Simon were the MVPs of Saving Asses.

I’VE ALWAYS LOVED YOU, CURTIS.

Let me just say I always loved Curtis. There’s no sudden, bandwagon love from me. Always loved him.
